I like how you made the red players super reckless at the beginning so that you have to give them the knife in order to even the playing field for a second, but now the knife is in the game and you have to manage it! It's a really cool idea.
If their "thought process" was displayed on where they want to go, that would be really cool. Like you could have them "plan out" their next 2 or 3 moves so you can see how different they will react if given the knife.
With a variety of maps, team behaviors, different weapons (like a paintball gun or something), larger(?) or smaller teams, different types of team players (like someone who just wants to run so they are extra fast) I think this has the potential for a really fun non-team management game!

Interesting flip on the capture the flag concept. Sorry to hear you had to abandon your first project - but this definitely seems like a concept that could grow even more legs potentially if you wanted to!
Nice question! The answer, honestly not that hard, the movement is using Godot AStarGrid and each type of player has simple logic for where they want to move.
I think the idea is really cool and I like the art style! But it is not clear to me what's happening. It told me I lost when the person with the flag was in the middle of the screen.
Thanks for the feedback! What is happening is that since a defender can only tag a runner on their half of the board, once a runner gets across that halfway point the runner successfully captures the flag.

Welp, I guess red team is just dumb cause they would always lose 3 or 4 players at the beginning.

Is there a win condition?
The game does not have any win condition. due to the nature of type swapping, the game will always end in a capture or a softlock.
